SCOPE gives Hope to the Rural Students of Sevalaya
Foundation stone was laid for the proposed ‘Industrial Training Institute’ (ITI) Building in the premises of Sevalaya’s Kasuva Campus near Thiruninravur, on 20th of November at 10.30 AM. Earlier in the morning, auspicious ‘Boomi Pooja’ was performed. Sevalaya is a charitable organization which provides free Education, boarding & lodging to the Orphan children, Food, clothing & shelter to the Destitute Senior Citizens.
The upcoming ITI is another Great Mile Stone in the spectacular educational history of Sevalaya, which has so far ascended up to the Plus Two level. The founder trustee of Sevalaya, Mr. V. Muralidharan has said that the rural youth, both boys & girls will be greatly benefitted by this Training Institute, thanks to SCOPE International which has sponsored the ITI Building as part of the CSR agenda for the year. The trade list of the proposed ITI includes Carpentry, House Wiring, Automobile, Cell Phone Servicing, Bakery & Beautician course etc,. He was happy to announce that present 10th and Plus One students need not go searching for Institutes in the City. They can make use of Sevalaya’s Technical Institute for their higher studies, totally free of cost.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between SCOPE and Sevalaya, which formally documents various joint projects, volunteer exchange and mutual cooperation. In his address the Chief Guest Mr. Edwin Nevis (CEO, Scope International) has expressed his happiness in collaborating with Sevalaya which is being well set up in the past 24 years. In spite of the long distance from the Chennai City, Sevalaya has managed to grow substantially, and now ventures to elevate the rural youth in higher education. He challenged the students to be brave enough, study well, and join the SCOPE itself in the future.
SCOPE International, a wholly owned subsidiary of Standard Charted Bank, UK PIC, has also conducted an Eye Camp for the benefit of the sixty resident Senior Citizens of 
Sevalaya’s Old Age Home and for the Children in need, on the same day. Those who needed Medication, Spectacles & Surgery were helped accordingly. Mr. Muralidharan has expressed his gratitude to the Ophthalmic experts from ‘Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai’ who have done fabulous service to the destitute and poor children. Apart from the volunteering initiative, SCOPE International staff were also magnanimous in providing New Clothes to the Thathas & Pattis of the Home.
While these hectic activities were happening, around fifty volunteers from the same concern braved the sun in the mid afternoon, and planted vegetable seeds in three fourths of an acre in the ‘Total Organic Farmlands’ of Sevalaya. The founder expressed his optimism this Kitchen Garden Project will cater to the needs of the Sevalaya’s kitchen, which feeds around 210 residents, children as well as the aged people.
Earlier Mr. V. Muralidharan (Founder and Managing Trustee, Sevalaya) welcomed and honored the guests with mementoes, and Mr. E. L. Narayanan (Trustee, Sevalaya) has proposed the vote of thanks.

ஸ்கோப் நிறுவனம் கிராமப்புர இளைஞர்களுக்கு சேவாலயாவின் வழியே உதவி
கிராமப்புர மாணவ மாணவியருக்கு தொழில்நுட்பக் கல்வியளிக்க உள்ள சேவாலயாவின் ஐ.டி.ஐ நிறுவனத்திற்கான பூமி பூஜையும், அடிக்கல் நாட்டுவிழாவும், திருநின்றவூரினை அடுத்த கசுவா கிராமத்தில் நவம்பர் 20ஆம் நாள் நடந்தது. சேவாலயா தொண்டு நிறுவனம், ஆதரவற்ற சிறுவர் சிறுமியருக்கு கல்வி, உணவு, உடைகள், உறைவிடம் ஆகியவற்றினை முற்றிலும் இலவசமாக அளித்து வருகிறது. அதரவற்ற முதியோருக்கான இல்லமும் இயங்கி வருகிறது.
பனிரெண்டாம் வகுப்புவரை கல்வி பயிலும் பள்ளியுடன், தற்போது ஐ.டி.ஐ நிறுவனம் ஒரு மைல்கல்லாக இணைகிறது. சேவாலயாவின் நிறுவன அறங்காவலர் திரு. முரளிதரன் அவர்கள் பேசும்போது, கிராமப்புர மாணவ மாணவியர் இக் கல்வி நிறுவனத்தின் மூலம் பயனடைவார்களென்று நம்பிக்கை தெரிவித்தார். இந்த ஐ.டி.ஐ தொழில்நுட்ப நிறுவனம், ஸ்கோப் இண்டர்நேஷனல் என்ற பன்னாட்டு நிறுவனத்தின் நிதி உதவியுடன் அமைக்கப்படுகிறது. தச்சுக்கலை, வீட்டு ஒயரிங், ஆட்டோமொபைல், செல்போன் சர்வீஸ், அழகுக்கலை, பேக்கரி தொழில் நுட்பம் போன்றவை இதில் அடங்கும். தற்போது சேவாலயாவின் மஹாகவி பாரதியார் உயர்நிலைப் பள்ளியில் படிக்கும் மாணவ மாணவியர், உயர் படிப்பிற்காக நகரத்தினை நோக்கிச் செல்லவேண்டிய அவசியமில்லை என்று திரு. முரளிதரன் அவர்கள் சொன்னார். மேற்கண்ட தொழில்நுட்பப் பாடங்களை சேவாலயாவின் ஐ.டி.ஐ ஏழை மாணவ மாணவியருக்கு முற்றிலும் இலவசமாக வழங்க உள்ளது.
இதனிடையே சேவாலயா தொண்டு நிறுவனத்திற்கும், ஸ்கோப் நிறுவனத்திற்கும் இடையிலான புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தம் ஒன்று கையெழுத்திடப்பட்டது. சிறப்பு விருந்தினர் திரு. எட்வின் நேவிஸ் (சி.இ.ஓ, ஸ்கோப் இண்டர்நேஷனல்) அவர்கள் பேசும்போது, கடந்த இருபத்து நான்கு வருடங்களாக சிறப்பாக நிலைபெற்றிருக்கும் சேவாலயா நிறுவனத்துடன் இணைந்து பணியாற்றுவதில் மகிழ்ச்சியடைவதாகக் குறிப்பிட்டார். மாணவ மாணவியரிடையே அவர் பேசும்போது, நன்கு கல்வி கற்று, நல்ல தைரியத்துடன் தங்கள் ஸ்கோப் நிறுவனத்தில் பணி செய்யும் வாய்ப்பினை பெருமளவிற்கு உழைக்குமாறு அறைகூவல் விடுத்தார்.
ஸ்டேண்டர்ட் சார்ட்டட் வங்கியின் இணை அமைப்பான ஸ்கோப் நிறுவனம், ஆதரவற்ற முதியோர் பயன்பெறும் வகையில் இலவச கண் சிகிச்சை முகாம் ஒன்றையும் நடத்தியது. மருந்துகள், அறுவை சிகிச்சை, கண்ணாடி போன்ற உதவிகள் அளிக்கப்பட்டன. நிறுவனர் பேசும்போது, ஸ்கோப் நிறுவனத்துடன் இணைந்து இம்முகாமினை சிறப்பாக நடத்திய சங்கர நேத்ராலயாவின் மருத்துவக் குழுவிற்கு நன்றி தெரிவித்தார். இல்லத்தின் அனைத்து ஆதரவற்ற தாத்தா பாட்டிகளுக்கும் புத்தாடைகளும் வழங்கப்பட்டன.
ஸ்கோப் நிறுவனத்தினைச் சேர்ந்த சுமார் ஐம்பது தன்னார்வ அலுவலர்கள், சுமார் முக்கால் ஏக்கர் நிலப்பரப்பில் முற்றிலும் இயற்கை விவசாய முறையில் விளையவிருக்கும் காய்கறி விதைகளை விதைத்தனர். இதிலிருந்து கிடைக்கும் காய்கறிகள், ஆதரவற்ற சிறுவர் இல்லம் மற்றும் முதியோர் இல்ல உணவகத்திற்கும் பயன்படவுள்ளது.
முன்னதாக சேவாலயாவினை நிறுவிய அறங்காவலர் திரு. வி. முரளிதரன் அவர்கள் வரவேற்புரை வழங்கியிருக்க, அறங்காவலர்களில் ஒருவராகிய திரு. நாராயணன் அவர்கள் நன்றி நவில, நாட்டுப்பண்ணுடன் விழா இனிதே நிறைவுற்றது.
