பேரா. ம. ரா. ப. குருசாமி அவர்கள் நேற்று 06.10.2012 கோயம்புத்தூரில் காலமானார் என்ற செய்தியால் உலுங்கினேன்.1963இல் கலைக்கதிர் இதழுக்கு அறிவியல் கட்டுரைகளை நான் எழுதிய காலங்களில் பேராசிரியர் ம.ரா.போ.குருசாமி அவர்கள் பதிப்பாசிரியராக இருந்து என்னை ஊக்குவித்தாராயினும் நேரில் காணும் வாய்ப்புப் பெற்றிலேன்.
கோவைக் கம்பன் கழகம் பதிப்பித்த கம்பராமாயணம் தொகுதியை அச்சிடல் தயாரிக்கும் பணியை என்னிடம் தந்தனர். அப்பணி தொடங்கிய காலத்தில் பேரா. அ. ச. ஞா. அறிமுகம் செய்ய 1987இல் பேராசிரியர் ம.ரா.போ.குருசாமி அவர்களின் அன்புக்கு உரியவனானேன்.
சென்னைக்கு வருவார். பேரா. அ. ச. ஞா. இல்லத்தில் சந்திப்பேன். என்னிடம் வண்டி இருந்த காலங்களில் சென்னைத் தொடர்வண்டி நிலையத்திலிருந்து அழைத்துவரும் பேறும் பெற்றிருக்கிறேன்.1991-1993 ஆண்டுகளில் என் ஆண் மக்கள் கோவையில் கற்ற காலங்களில் அவரின் பாதுகாப்பு அவர்களுக்குக் கிடைத்தது.
அவரின் தாமு நகர் இல்லத்துக்குப் பலமுறை போயிருக்கிறேன்.
அந்தணர், அறவோர், செந்தண்மை பூண்டவர், செயல்வீரர் என்ற தகைமைகளைத் தேடுகையில் என் கண்முன் தோன்றுபவர்களுள் பேராசிரியர் ம.ரா.போ.குருசாமி அவர்களும் ஒருவர்.
தன்மானம் மிக்கவர். புலமைக்கு மதிப்பளித்தவர். எவரையும் செல்வந்தர் என்றோ, அரசியல்வாதி என்றோ, அதிகாரி என்றோ கருதி அளவுக்கு அதிகமாகப் பணிவுகாட்டார். அதில் அவருக்கும் பேரா. அ. ச. ஞா.வுக்கும் ஒற்றுமை அதிகம்.
என் மீது அளவற்ற பாசம் கொண்டிருந்தார். அவர் சொற்களுக்கு அச்சுப் பதிப்புச் செயல்வடிவம் தரும் ஆற்றல் எனக்குண்டு எனக் கருதியவர்.
1990களில் நான் அச்சிடத் தயாரித்த முருகன் பாடல் தொகுதி முழுவதையும் 2011இல் என்னிடம் கேட்டார், என்னிடம் இருந்த படிகளைக் கொடுத்தேன். கௌமார மடத்தாரிடம் சேர்த்தார்.
முருகன் பாடல் தொகுதி முழுவதையும் மீள அச்சிடவேண்டும் என்ற ஆர்வத்தை அருட்செல்வர் நா. மகாலிங்கத்துக்குப் பேரா. ம. ரா. பொ. குருசாமி அவர்கள் ஊட்டியதால் அந்தப் பணி இப்பொழுது முடுக்கிவிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
அவரது அண்ணர் திரு. ம. ரா. போ. பாலகணபதி அவர்களைப் பிஜி நாட்டில் 1971இல் சந்தித்தேன். அப்பொழுது அவர் அங்குள்ள விவேகானந்த தமிழ்ப் பள்ளியின் தலைமை ஆசிரியர். ஓய்வுக் காலத்தில் நியுசீலாந்தில் வாழ்ந்தார். ஒருமுறை சென்னை வந்தார். கந்தரனுபூதி ஆங்கில மொழிபெயர்ப்பைப் பதிப்பிக்குமாறு என்னிடம் கேட்டார். பதிப்பித்தேன்.
2012 ஆனியில் பன்னிரு திருமுறைச் சொல்லடைவு தொடர்பாக அருட்செலவர் நா. மகாலிங்கம் அவர்களின் வேண்டுகோளை ஏற்று, பேராசிரியர் ம.ரா.போ.குருசாமி அவர்களின் வழிகாட்டலில் பேராசிரியர் பலருடன், கணிணி வல்லுநர் பலருடன், புலவர் மணியன் அவர்களுடன் மூன்று நாள்கள் கோவையில் தங்கிக் கலந்துரையாடினேன்.
1963 தொடக்கம் 2012 வரை ஏதோ ஒரு வழியில் தொடர்பாக இருந்தோம். தமிழ் அமைத்த பாலத்தால் இணைந்திருந்தோம்.
2012 ஆனியில் தாமு நகரில் அவர் இல்லம் சென்றிருந்தபொழுது பழுத்த பழமாக இருந்தார்.
அவர் நூல்களுக்கு நான் கூறும் கருத்துரைகளால் ஈர்க்கப்பட்டவர்.காலனுக்கு ஏனிந்த அவசரம்?

Pizza Ready to Serve

The romantic thriller directed by Karthik Subburaj starring Vijay Sethupathi, Remya Nambeesan titled ‘ Pizza’ is ready to hit the screens on 19th of this October month worldwide. And Sangam Cinemas will be officially releasing all over Tamil Nadu. The story revolves around the circumstances faced by a Pizza Delivery boy after landing into mysterious place and how it dramatically changes his life. Vijay Sethupathi is playing the lead. He is well known among the critics for the critically acclaimed Thenmerku Paruvakatru.
The teaser of the movie also received well among the audience. Audio of the movie was released on September. Produced by C V Kumar, it has camera crooned by Gopi Amarnath and editing by Leo John Paul. Story and Screen play both by Karthik Subburaj. The rest of the cast includes Adukalam Narain. Jaikumar, Simha, Pooja, Karuna and Veera Santhanam. Its quiet going to be a fresh look with almost new team. As the teaser and trailer created a hype, hope the movie gives us extravaganza ride. Scripted and directed by debutant Naveen who has assisted director Chimbu Deven in ‘Imsai Arasan 23m Pulikecei’, ‘Arai En 305il Kadavul’ and Director Pandiraj in national award winning ‘Pasanga’.

Every person who thinks he has tasted success in life and understood life successfully, every person who searches outwardly for happiness and satisfaction of life, every person who considers himself superior or inferior than others – everyone of them is a fool. Because whenever we think we are equipped to deal with life’s next challenges, we are given a rude awakening. The experiences that we accumulate over a lifetime still might not be enough to deal with the next puzzle that life will throw at us. Life outfoxes and outwits us all the time. Life’s meaning and perception changes ever day and life teaches us and makes us understand it in a new form every other day till we die. So, all of us who think we are wiser, smart, competitive, better than another being, are fools. And this world is a beautiful stage where all these fools gather. This film deals with a bunch of fools like us. It’s not mandatory they do foolish things and act foolishly, but they are fools in their own way.
K.J.Yesudhas sings his first song after 50 years
‘Moodar Koodam’ is a black comedy based on Gautama Buddha’s saying “It’s better to travel well than to arrive”, a thorough entertainer, scripted and filmed in a way to make the audience laugh, have fun and if possible think. As the script subtly deals with the meaning and purpose of life, the climax song needed to be more philosophical. According to me the song ‘neeyum bommai naanum bommai’ from the 1963 cult classic movie ‘Bommai’ directed by the legendary director S.Balachander is the best song that explains life in a more philosophical but rather simpler way. So, I thought a remix version of the song with the same lyrics and mesmerizing voice of Yesudhas sir would do more justice to the climax of the film. After finishing the track, we visited S.balachnder sir’s Mylapore house, met his family members and told them about our idea of remixing and using the song in our movie and played the track for them. After hearing the remixed version, srimiti Vasantha Balachander and Mr.S.B.Raman (son of S.Balachander), readily agreed and issued a legal NOC for the usage of the song in our film. But later when we were planning to proceed with the recording, I thought that reaching Yesudhas sir will be a herculean task for an independent filmmaker like me and decided to record the song with Vijay Yesudhas’s voice. Vijay listened to the track and was very impressed. he himself suggested that none other than the legend himself can do justice to the song. He played the track to Yesudhas sir and Yesudhas sir immediately accepted to sing the song. Yesudhas sir has recreated his magic once again after 50 years with this song. He was very pleased with the way the song has been remixed. He appreciated music director Natarajan Sankaran for having preserved the soul of the song while remixing it. He recorded the song in 20 minutes and shared his experience for more than an hour and a half. I would cherish those 2 hours with the legend throughout my life. I consider it a boon. It makes us feel proud to present the classic song ‘Neeyum Bommai Naanum Bommi’ to the present day audience. It’s a pride to have such a song in our movie to have associated with legends like Yesudhas sir and S.Balachander sir’s family. We are grateful to them. This song will sure bring tears out of music lovers and Yesudhas fans. The song with it’s visual will be a treat for the audience to watch. The audio will be released in a month. We are planning to felicitate the two legends, K.J.Yesudhas and late Mr.S.balachander during the audio release. -

11000 மாணவர்கள் பங்குபெற்ற சேவாலயா நடத்திய மாநில அலவிலான காந்திய தேர்வு
திருவள்ளூர் மாவட்டம் திருநின்றவூர் அருகே உள்ள கசுவா கிராமத்தில் செயல்பட்டு வரும் சேவாலயா சேவை மையத்தில் இன்று (02.10.2012) மாநில அளவில் நடைபெற்ற காந்தியத் தேர்வுகளுக்கான பரிசளிப்பு விழா நடைபெற்றது. இதில் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக திரு. ராஜசேகரன் (நிறுவனர், உரத்த சிந்தனை) மற்றும் குழுவினர் கலந்து கொண்டு வெற்றி பெற்ற மாணவ மாணவியருக்கு பரிசுகளை வழங்கி சிறப்புரையாற்றினார்.

Summary of the talkThe publication in 1867 of Tiruvarutpa, a book of verses by the Tamil Shaiva mystic Ramalinga Adigal, was a landmark event for his followers, but it also prompted the beginning of a dispute within Shaivism that would continue for decades. This paper looks specifically at the publication history of Tiruvarutpa, detailing the efforts of his followers to collect his verses, Ramalinga’s reluctance to cooperate with the publication work, and the content and structure of the volume that was published, especially the apparati that frame the publication. The paper will consider the motivations of Ramalinga’s followers in publishing a volume of his verses, at this transitional time when printed works were increasingly replacing manuscripts as the primary media of textual communication.

Rick Weiss is Senior Lecturer of South Asian Religions at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He is currently working on a book on Ramalinga Adigal’s writings and institutions. He has previously published a book on siddha medicine, Recipes for Immortality (OUP, 2009).
About Prof. M. Anandakrishnan
Prof. Anandakrishnan obtained Ph.D in Civil Engineering (1960) from the University of Minnesota, USA. He served as Professor of Civil Engineering at IIT, Kanpur between 1963 and 1974. He served the United Nations in the UN Centre for S&T for Development(1978-1989); as the Vice-Chancellor of Anna University (1990-96); and as Vice-Chairman of the Tamil Nadu State Council for Higher Education from 1996-2002. Currently he is the Chairman, Board of Governors, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and Rajasthan; President, Ranganathan Centre for Information Studies (RCIS), Chennai; President, Tamil Nadu Academy of Sciences, Chennai; Member, Board of Management, NUEPA, Delhi; Member, High Power Committee on Renovation and Rejuvenation of Higher Education in India and Chairman, Executive Council, Science City, Chennai. He was Chairman, MIDS between 2003 and 2008. He has served as Chairman or Member of several high level committees of MHRD, UGC, AICTE and NAAC. His honours and awards include Padma Shri from the President of India (2002); the Order of Scientific Merit from the President of Brazil (1996); Distinguished Leadership Award of the University of Minnesota (2003); Honorary Fellow of the Indian Society for Technical Education (2005); UGC National Swami Pranavananda Saraswati Award in Education (2006); Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, India and Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India.
