At last the biggest park was opened ten days ago by the TN Government which was caught up in some issues for several long years.

It was a project started during the previous government and the property owned by the Tamilnadu Horticultural department started the project after all the bottlenecks (some legal issues) were cleared. With such a large greenery this is going to be a big big hit and this park is on the edge of the anna salai opposite to the old safire theatre and close to the old Oxford University Press and USIS.

Geographically its on Avvai shanmugam salai (Formerly Lloyds Road) and there will be thousands of trees and a big path way with all kinds of facilities like, seating in shade, water and rest rooms too.

This six acres plus park is also to be solar powered soon. People who reside in nearby areas like Thousand lights, Nungambakkam and Gopalapuram will find this as a boon. This is also to be allowed for film shoots and there are nearly hundred and eighty variety of trees which is not normally available grown and seen in Metropolitan areas like chennai.

Separate gyms and children park area is also part of this park and presently it is open for four hours in the morning and four hours in the evening since many works are not fully completed. This will also amphi theater in the days to come with two ponds bit larger ones.

All these comes to us on a fee of Rs Twenty per head and Rs one Hundred and fifty per month like a monthly season.

Probably Post Covid and during the on coming summer this will turn to be a major attraction.This is just a walking distance from the DAV School in Gopalapuram.
