    Story of How Ganapathy Subramaniam became Gemini Ganesan

    On this day Hundred and Three years ago When Ganesan was born in Pudukkottai never in their family had even thought that he would make it big one day. Ganesan wanted to become a Doctor but after the graduation in Maharaja College (He did B.Sc., Physics) he had to face many turbulences in life and he came to chennai to take an assignment at Gemini Studios as a casting assistant. His job is to ensure the testing process of the aspiring actors and see whether they fit the bill. One of the find of Ganesan was Chandrababu. He was by then married and had four children. Well before that he had taken the asylum in Muthulakshmi House in Adayar. Later she was celebrated as Dr Muthulakshmi Reddy a leading doctor and a reformist a daring approach of a woman of those days. it will be quite interesting to note that Even Vizhupuram Chinnaya Ganesan later to Become Nadigar thilakam was tested and certified by Ganesan. It was Missmalini in 1947 (a Work of RK Narayanan) His films moondru Pillaigal and Thai Ullam did not go well in the box office but it was Manam Pola Mangalyam (மாப்பிள்ளை டோய்) Marked the Entry of savitri in his life in this 1957 Release which did magic and the star was born. Remember MGR and Sivaji ganesan had already settled. He Played Pennin Perumai, Bandha Paasam and many more with Nadigar thilakam and it was only one movie with MGR (Mukarasi) From Nagarajan, it was Sridhar, Balachander, Bhimsingh, Pantulu and many more directors had done with him. Who can forget the climax of Sumaithangi, or a rightist man in Punnagai as sathyamurthy and as David aseervatham in Naan Avan Illai, it was His home production of Narayanee Films. He was a celebrated throughout his career and did the best of roles till he did his Avvai Shanmugi or Mettukudi. He had won Padmashree award and had achieved more accolades  throughout south india and other states. At the age of 85 he breathed his last around 1,30 in the noon when his family members were around him. Today it’s his Hundredth Birth Anniversary. When cremation was in the process i was in woodlands Hotel seated next to PB Srinivas. When i said that his songs had made him hero quickly he refuted and said he had become hero overnight with காலங்களில் அவள் வசந்தம் in a way Gemini Ganesan was senior to both SivajI Ganesan and MGR But Nambiar and Manohar are seniors to Gemini Too. The story of Ramaswamy Ganesan to Become Kadhal Mannan it had taken nearly fifty years. He paired with Jaya in only one movie that too as a guest role. When i think of Gemini Ganesan i recollect one  song of Velli vizha immediately. உனக்கென்ன குறைச்சல் நீ ஒரு ராஜா. He was in the throne of people’s hearts all through.. Gemini In my view is a urban romantic street smart and he won the hearts at ease.

    Tail piece – Gemini was an ace cricketer and he had served in Madras Christian College as a Lecturer. He had a passion to Translate Kannadasan’s Arthamulla Indhu Madham in English but that could not happen unfortunately

    Additional story – Gemini was a craze in our family and in 1959 when the film Kalyana Parisu was released my mother who was in her Mid pregnancy state went to Casino with my aunts and they all decided to name the boy child as Baskar and if the baby happens to be a girl it was decided to name as Vasanthi. Reason is this – The hero Geminis Name was Baskar and the Heroine Saroja Devi’s Name was Vasanthi. It was a film that was released in Casino on April 9, 1959

    I was christened as Baskar this way.

    As Part of Madras Day Celebrations A Programme was held today evening at GRT Hotel Chennai. The title was Kadhalikka Neramillai – Sixt Years Later.

    Historian V Sriram of Madras Musings gave the ntroudcrto speech and Auditor Mohanram took over the mike and gave a lovely talk on Sridhar’s Movies with Marina Connections. Right From Kalyana Parisu he dealt with the song sequences and the backdrop of bay of Bengal which had its own fascination in the eyes of Sridhar CV. Scenes from The film with the piece of Comedy of Nagesh and Balaiah was the Highlight.

    Mrs Devasena sridhar with all kinds of reservation and shy narrated her version in her small speech.

    Rajasree shared her experience and attributed her success to Sridhar. Chitralaya Gopu Sir in his inimitable style shared all his association with Sridhar right from the school Days and many piece of Informations Though known a bit was afresh when it came as a speech of Gopu Sir.

    It was gladdening to note many youngsters made it to the occasion. This itself show how successful the movie was and the Team Behind it.

    As Sriram Said This film is remarkable in the history of Indian Cinema. For me it was a well spent evening and i could see some known oldie faces who are addicted of Golden Era of Tamil cinema.

    Thanks GRT for hosting such a event. What more, the Light refreshments made the event more memorable. The film was released in Casino and was a super Duper Hit in 1964.

    அறுபதுகளில் ஆரம்பித்து சென்னையை ரசித்து வருகிறேன். முதலில் எனக்கு அது மயிலாப்பூர். அப்புறம் அது மெட்ராஸ். இன்று எனக்கு சென்னை. அந்த பால்ய வயதில் எனக்கு ஊர் பற்றிய ஈர்ப்பு ஏதுமில்லை. சுற்றி வந்த தெருக்களும், குளங்களும், பூங்காக்களும், சினிமா கொட்டகையும், கொஞ்சம் பள்ளிக்கூடங்களும் தான் எனக்கு இந்த மண். ஒரு அரைக்கை வெள்ளை சட்டை, இடுப்பில் எப்போதுமே நிற்காத அரை டிராயர் (வீட்டில் நிஜார்) ஒரு சின்னப்பை தாண்டி உலகம் வேறில்லை.

    கொஞ்ச நாள் அம்புலிமாமா, பிறகு வளர்ந்த பின் முத்து காமிக்ஸ் என வாசிப்பு தொடர மெல்ல கல்கண்டுக்கு வந்தேன். படித்துகொண்டே இருக்க வேண்டும் என்ற ஆசையை ஊட்டியது எது என தெரியவில்லை. ஒரு குக்கிரராமத்தில் பிறந்து இருந்தால் இவை எல்லாவற்றையும் நான் இழந்து இருக்கலாம். பெரிய குண்டுமணி பங்களா என அழைக்கப்படும் அந்த ஆபிரகாம் தெரு குடியிருப்பு என்னை சீராட்டி கொண்டாடியது. நான் அவர்களின் செல்லம். என்னை அய்யா என அழைத்த நேசமான மக்கள் இன்று யாரும் இல்லை. ப்ரைனோ பேபி பைல்வான் பாஸ்கர் என கொஞ்சிய தந்தை பற்றிய நினைவு இன்றும் பசுமை. அய்யா பையா என என்னை கொஞ்சிய தாயும் மனதில் நீங்காமல் இருக்கிறார். விவரம் புரியாத வயதில் கள்ளமும் கபடும் நிச்சயம் இருக்க முடியாது என்பதற்கு என் வாழ்க்கையே சாட்சி.

    அடிப்படையில் எங்கள் ஏழ்மை குடும்பம் எனக்கு பலம் தான். அது இல்லாமல் இருப்பின் என்னை நிறைய பேர் அண்டியிருக்காமல் இருக்க கூடும். எந்த பரிவுக்கும், பாசத்திற்கும் பின் ஒரு பரிதாபம் இருக்கவே செய்கிறது. இதை எல்லாம் நான் கடக்கவில்லை. அது என்னை கடந்தது. எத்தனையோ இரவுகள் பட்டினியுடன் கடந்து இருக்கிறேன். ஆனால் அன்புக்கூட்டத்தில் பசியின் வலி தெரியவில்லை. அண்டை வீட்டார் எங்கள் பசியை போக்க முயன்றார்கள். சிலர் துணி மணி கொடுத்தார்கள். கோவில் வாசலில் இலவச உணவுக்கு வரிசையில் நின்ற போது அவமானம் தெரியவில்லை. ஆனால் ஏன் பிறயோர் நிற்கவில்லை என கேள்வி மட்டும் எழுந்தது.

    ஆனால் வளர வளர பிம்பம் பெரிதாகிறது. பள்ளியில் மதிய உணவு யாருக்கு வேண்டும் என கேள்வி எழுந்த போது யாரும் எழுந்து நிற்கவில்லை. நான் மட்டும் எழுந்தேன். அந்த கூச்சம் பல நாள் என்னுள் இருந்தது. இதுவும் சென்னையின் கொடை என இப்போது சமாதானம் செய்து கொண்டாலும் அந்த வலியை மறக்க முடியவில்லை .

    எப்படியோ என்னுள் எழுந்த மொழி ஆசை தமிழ் தாண்டி ஆங்கிலத்திற்கும் சென்றது. படிப்பின் மீது ஈர்ப்பு இல்லை. பத்தாம் வகுப்பு பெயில். அப்பா பெல்ட்டால் அடித்தார். பிறகு அவரே மருந்தும் இட்டார். எந்த இன்னலிலும் யாரும் இந்த மயிலாப்பூரை விட்டு நகரவில்லை. அதற்கு நாதியும் இல்லை. எங்களுக்கு மெட்ராஸ் என்ற ஒரூ இடம் தனியாக இல்லை. இந்த இடம் தான் உலகம் என்றான பின் பெயரில் ஒன்றுமில்லை. இதனை இன்று வரை கெட்டியாக பிடித்து கொண்டு இருக்கிறேன். எங்கு சென்றாலும் இரவுப்பொழுது இந்த மண் தான். இது ஒரு கொள்ளும் புத்தி.

    சென்னையும் நானும் ஒன்றாகவே வளர்ந்தோம். அது இளமையாக இன்றும் இருக்கிறது. மூப்பு என்னை தழுவுகிறது. பார்க்கும் ஒவ்வொரு இடத்திற்கு பின்னும் ஒரு சரித்திரம் இருப்பது போல அவை எல்லாவற்றிலும் எனக்கு தனி நினைவுகள். என்னையும் தாங்கிய இந்த மண்ணையும் மக்களையும் தாண்டி எனக்கு வேறு உலகம் இல்லை. பிடித்துக்கொண்டே இருக்கும்போது நழுவும் காலம் போல மெல்ல பிடி தளருகிறது. நேசமும் வாஞ்சையும் இந்த மயிலை மீது தான். இது எனக்கு போதி மரம் போல ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் சென்னை புதிதாக பிறந்து கொண்டு இருக்கிறது.

    பெரும் வியப்பில் அதனை பார்த்துக்கொண்டே இருக்கிறேன். இந்த உணர்வுக்கு எப்படி பெயரிட்டாலும் அதை அடைக்க முடியாது. ஒரு ஊரை, இடத்தை கவர்ந்து இருந்து மனசுக்குள் அதனை போஷிக்க முடியுமா? முடியும் என்பது எனது அனுபவம். இதற்கு காரணம் மயிலை என்கிற சென்னை. இந்த வானம் என்றும் எனக்கு கானம். இந்த தாகம் தீராகாதல். வாழ்க மயிலை, வாழ்க சென்னை.

    அவர் நடுங்கியிருப்பார் என உள்ளுக்குள் சந்தோஷம்.

    எதிராளியின் பயமும் அதன் விளைவாய் எழும் நிலை சாடிசம். எனக்குத் தெரியும். ஆனால் மனம் சந்தோஷம்  என்கிறது. போன மாதம் சேர்ந்த ஸ்டெனோ என் வீட்டு நம்பரைக் கேட்டாள். அவளிடம் இரண்டு பாலிசி, போன மாதம் போட்டேன்.

    சார் உங்க கையால் ஸ்நாக்ஸ் கொடுங்க என்றாள் ஹவுஸ் கீப்பிங் பெண்மணி.

    முதல்ல எனக்குக் கொடு மேன் எனக் குரல் கேட்டு திரும்பினால் ஜி எம்.

    Any charisma of a person has its Limitations and there is no Image that will sustain for indefinite time.

    The Results of Karnataka had proven the same and in the case of Yogi the results in local body elections are not that great in Uttar Pradesh. Even in the case of MGR we had seen his downfall once though, he was able to manage the ladder of Success in no time.

    BJP Party on the whole think that they can steer any election anytime with a magic name. This is a rusted Philosophy.

    If only BJP Leaves the religion placard and Hindutva always it cannot be a wholistic party winning all over again and again since People had started feeling averse to many of their ideologies and run on policies all these eight years.

    BJP Thinks that they can make a throwback of money and dented freebie systems which they once said as a danger to a country.

    Now BJP men say these freebies were announced without the knowledge of Namo? Then what was Amit and Nadda doing all these Days? The party has to be function at Ground level and be reasonable in all their approach towards the govt and Their schemes.

    Tamilnadu people are not ready like many people who think the next govt is ready on a platter to Annamalai. It’s not a cake walk or bed or roses.

    Hundreds of Flowers and Garlands and Helicopter Landing cannot bring victories overnite.

    Let Amits and Anaamalais Realise this. Act and win the confidence of the people as all as inclusive without using religion card and Divisive Politics.

    Please be aware we had govts even before BJP in India and Narasimha Rao ‘s performance had not seen a match till this day. People with national fervour and spirit are in everyone’s Blood here and dont try to create a feeling that it’s a wholesale owned by BJP

    மனோபாலா மரணம் இங்கு மறக்கப்பட்டு இன்று இளையராஜா அஞ்சலியில் சொன்னது பேசு பொருள் ஆகிவிட்டது. ராஜா முதிர்ந்தவர். அனுபவஸ்தர். பெரிய பிரபலம். அவரை இப்படித்தான் பேச வேண்டும் என சொல்ல யாருக்கும் உரிமை இல்லை. ஆனால் இப்படி எல்லாம் பேசக் கூடாது எனச் சொல்லலாம் என்று தான் தோன்றுகிறது.

    இதற்கு மேல் அவருக்கும் என்ன பெரும் புகழும் பணமும் வேண்டும்? ரமணரை வணங்குபவர் அவர். அகந்தை பற்றி அவர் அறிந்ததும், புரிந்ததும் இவ்வளவு தான் எனில் யாரை இங்குக் குறை சொல்ல? அவர் தன்னை இன்னும் ஆழ்ந்து பார்க்கவில்லை என்றே சொல்லத் தோன்றுகிறது.

    நான் மிக்க சின்னவன் அவரை விட எல்லா வகையிலும். ஆனாலும் அவர் பேசிய தோரணை தவறு தான். நிஜமாகவும், இயல்பாகவும் இருப்பது அவ்வளவு சுலபம் இல்லை. அது இளையராஜாவிற்கும் பொருந்தும். அவரின் இசை அமுங்கி வசை தான் முன் நிற்கிறது. பெரிய நடிகர்களையும், அரசியல் தலைவர்களையும் விமர்சனம் செய்ய நமக்கு உரிமை இருக்கும் போது இளையராஜா விலக்கு அல்ல. அவரிடம் இன்னும் பெயருக்கும், புகழுக்கும் ஆசைப்படும் குணம் இன்னும் குறையவில்லை. அது தவறில்லை. ஆனால் மனோபாலாவின் அஞ்சலியில் காட்டியிருக்க வேண்டாம். சத்தியமாக எனது கருத்தில் அவரின் அரசியல் கலப்பை நினைக்கவில்லை.

    அவருக்கு எங்கோ இன்னும் இன்னும் என்ற வலி உள்ளது. இனி இனி ஒன்றும் இல்லை என்று அவர் உணர வேண்டும். தத்துவம் தெரிந்த அவர் என்றோ அதனைக் கைகொண்டிருக்க வேண்டும். அன்புள்ள ராஜா சார், உங்களை இன்றும் உலகம் பெரிதும் மதிக்கிறது. உங்கள் புகழ் குடம் ஏன் இன்னும் நிரம்பவில்லை என்று நினைக்கிறீர்கள். ஆனால் அது தளும்புகிறது என்ற விஷயம் உங்கள் கண்களுக்குத் தெரியவில்லை. அல்லது தெரிந்தும் உங்களுக்குப் போதவில்லை எனில் குறை குடத்தில் அல்ல. ஆழ அமுக்கி முகக்கினும் ஆழ்கடல்நீர் நாழி முகவாது நால் நாழி என்ற அவ்வையின் பாடலை நீங்கள் படித்து இருப்பீர்கள். இதற்கு மேல் மொள்ள இயலாது என தெரிவதும், தெரிந்து நகர்வதும் தான் தெளிவு . இன்னும் மொள்ள நினைப்பது தவறு.

    உங்கள் கர்வத்தைத் தொலையுங்கள். இதற்கு மேல் சாதிக்கவும், பெயர் சம்பாதிக்கவும் உங்களுக்கு அவசியம் இல்லை இதைச் சொல்ல ஒரு கவிஞனோ, இசை அமைப்பாளரோ, ஒரு பிரபலமோ தேவையில்லை. இந்த மிகச் சாதாரணன் போதும். நீங்கள் செய்வீர்கள் எனில் உலகம் இன்னும் உம்மைக் கொண்டாடும்.

    இன்று இசைக்கவி ரமணன் அவர்களின் காலங்களில் அவன் வசந்தம் கவியரசர் கண்ணதாசன் நிகழ்ச்சியில் கலந்து கொண்டேன். இடம் பாரதிய வித்யா பவன், மயிலை.

    ரமணன் பேச்சில் வல்லவர். அதுவும் அவர் கவிஞரை கொண்டாடும் விதம் மிக அலாதி. ஒவ்வொருவருக்குள் இருக்கும் கவிஞரை அவர் வெளிக்கொண்டு வரும் விதம் மிக அற்புதம். அதற்கு அவர் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளும் பாடல்களின் தேர்வும் அதனை பற்றிய ஆராய்ச்சி செய்து அவர் செய்யும் உரை மிக நேர்த்தி.

    சில வேலைப்பளு காரணமாக நான் கூட்டத்திற்கு கொஞ்சம் தாமதமாகத்தான் சென்றேன். என் பக்கத்தில் உட்கார்ந்து இருந்தவர் மூத்தவர். கொஞ்சம் உடல் நலம் சரியில்லை போலும். அடிக்கடி இருமிக்கொண்டு இருந்தார். எனக்கு இந்த கொரானா காலத்தில் இப்படி இருமியது கொஞ்சம் கவலையாகவும் பயமாகவும் இருந்தது. இந்த மூப்பிலும் உடல் நலம் பாதித்த நிலையிலும் அவர் சிரமம் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு வந்தது எனக்கு பெரிய ஆச்சரியம் மற்றும் மகிழ்ச்சி. அவர் இல்லத்திற்கு எப்படி செல்வார் என யோசித்து கொண்டே ரமணனின் பேச்சை ரசித்து கொண்டு இருந்தேன்.

    ரமணன் எடுத்து கொண்ட சவாலே சமாளி படப்பாடலை அவர் பாடும்போது என் அருகே அமர்ந்தவர் எந்த அறிமுகமும் அற்றவர், என்னையும் தெரியாதவர் சொன்னார் “இந்த படத்தை எழுபத்தி ஒன்றில் ஒரு கீத்து கோட்டையில் பார்த்தேன். தரை டிக்கெட், முப்பது பைசா என்றார். அன்று படம் பார்த்த உணர்வு அவரிடம் இருந்தது. அவ்வளவு சந்தோஷம்.

    அவரும் என்னை போல கவிஞர், கணேசன், விசுவின் ரசிகர் என புரிந்து கொண்டேன். இப்படி எங்கோ சிதறி கிடக்கும் கலை உணர்வையும், ரசனையையும் இணைக்கும் ரமணனின் நிகழ்ச்சி ஒரு பெரும் சந்தோஷம். உடன் அவருடன் இணைந்து நிகழ்ச்சியை நடத்திய இளங்கோ குமணன் மேலான ரசனை கொண்டவர். அவரின் ஈடான பேச்சில் கூட்டம் மேன்மை அடைந்தது. எனக்கு பக்கத்தில் உட்கார்ந்து இருந்தவர் அதற்கு பிறகு இருமியது எனக்கு கொஞ்சம் கூட வருத்தம் அளிக்கவில்லை.

    ரமணன் அவர்களை இந்த அளவுக்கு வாழ்க்கையில் கொண்டு வந்தவர்களுக்கு நன்றி சொல்ல வேண்டும். ஒருவரையா குறிப்பிட முடியும்? மிகவும் கொடுத்து வைத்தவர் ரமணன். அவரை விட நாமெல்லாம்.

    வாழ்க இசைக்கவி. வளர்க அவரின் தமிழ். என் கண்களுக்கும் செவிகளுக்கும் வெகு நாள் கழித்து நன்றி சொல்ல வைத்த ரமணன் அவர்களுக்கு மிக்க நன்றி.

    Book Lovers of Alwarpet, Mylapore and other adjoining areas know very well Mr Palani. He started his career as a paper dealer and rose to great heights. He developed the libraries in Many Locations and the famous and foremost that comes to mind is the one on Lloyds Road aka Avvai Shanmugam Salai.

    Before entering into the Book Business he was a scrap dealer and made this Huge success with all his sheer efforts. He had a Good Rapport with the schools nearby.

    Many old Students of DAV and National English school are still the Members of His Library.

    Mr T N Palani has Eleven Branches and his two sons look after them A Very unassuming Person is Mr Palani. He made the first Venture in 1955 and had completed his Sixty Eight Services in this Venture.

    Book Lovers and regulars to Easwari Will Miss Palani Sir. You had made the life of many meaningful with your wonderful Books.

    Mahatma Gandhi’s Statue had been shifted

    Mahatma Gandhi’s Statue on Kamarajar Salai aka Beach Road had been shifted late on Friday Night after the dense traffic settled for the day.

    This had to be shifted to facilitate the ongoing Metro Phase for Corridor 4. This stretch of Light House – Poonamallee is expected to be completed in Three years Period and after the completion of the same it will be re installed in the same Place.

    This Twelve Feet Statue was installed in 1959 was Jawaharlal Nehru and was sculpted by Debi Prasad Roy Chowdhury (He did the Labour Statue too).

    PWD of State Govt had interacted in the smooth operation of the same.

    Films of yesteryears used this spot for their Primeshots and More than anyone it was Our Sridhar Who literally gulped this space for his film shoots. Who can forget the evergreen Muthukalo Kankal Soulfully rendered by Soundararajan and Susheela.

    Centenary Issue of Shri T K Ramamurthy

    Vamanan had authored this Centenary Issue of Shri T K Ramamurthy.

    Ramamurthy Anna as he is fondly being called was born in 1922 in Tiruchirappalli and at the age of Thirty He Joined Hands With Viswanathan and made their Debut in Panam a home Production of N S Krishnan and T A Madhuram which was released in December 1952. They unitedly worked together for a near Fourteen years and was separated after the Release of Aayirathil Oruvan a Blockbuster of MGR in July 1965.

    Later Ramamurthy worked in Eighteen films after the separation. At the age of Ninety-one he died in Balaji Nagar Chennai in the Year 2013 on 17th April.

    Vamanan is seen in this Black and White Photo at the Right end with Folded Hands along with the Family Members of Shri Ramamurthy along with the Chief Secretary and Chief Minister of Tamilnadu

    Its officially done and its T M Soundararajan Salai now. The honour is made on the legend on a very apt day.

    Mylapore MLA, Councillor Amirdhavarshini and family members of the veteran Singer joined the occasion. Great Grandson of TMS was the attraction in the event. The age old House of the house was cleaned and a portrait was kept in his memory for the fans to pay tributes.

    Palraj Seen in the picture who honours Velu is the son of Shri Soundararajan. He had rendered thousands of songs in a career spanning well over fifty Years and at a particular time in Sixties He was the Voice of the Veteran MGR and Nadigar Thilagam.

    It may a surprise news to many to know that it was not for Sivaji or MGR he had sung more songs.

    It was For Jaisankar he had sung more songs which many may not be aware.

    My Fascination for the bicycle was of high rage and since my teens till i shifted to two wheeler the liking of the same was too high- Bicycle to me was an Economical, easy maintainable and even a small boy of sixties like me who was in school could always use it at the drop of a hat.

    Though we had one at our home (Remember it was Rallis) the demand was too big for it as my father used to take it to Office.

    Of course we in life always had a choice or alternative in some form or the other. Its Hire Cycle. For semi educated like me it was HOUR Cycle and When i chanced upon this advertisement i drove back my memory to the lost decades. It was just fifty paisa or less than that for driving it for half an hour.

    Small boy like me who cannot have enough money could not afford to spend a lot and i always roam around the cycle shop to ensure that we don’t exceed the time. It was in such a cycle i used to go movies (all night show) to various theaters of old madras.

    I Still remember a long journey to Thiruporur in late seventies too. My father was a strict disciplinarian and he used to insist that i carry a kerosene lamp always till the invasion of the dynamo cycle.

    Today when i had a chance to drive a bicycle i could not drive at all for fifty meters. It was an asset to all the family of those days. It was this cycle which changed the fortune of life to many and i was one among them –Whether its BSA, Rallis or Hercules i love them always.

    For locals in Chennai around Mylapore it was Sambandam cycle a famous shop will always come to mind and for the whole of Madras it used to be BM Davey if i am right which had its showroom in Broadway.

    Gosh , I was on my Helmet – But To Remain within four Walls for a While

    This happened Yesterday Morning (25th March) around five thirty am when i was driving back to my home after a coffee at Saravana Bhavan on Dr Radhakrishnan Salai. When i was driving to take the TTK Road Flyover near Narada Gana sabha i came across bunch of dogs roaring and they were in the Process of Crossing to the eastern end. I thought i can cross over them and managed my driving as usual at the same normal speed but what had happened was Different.

    A new set of stray dogs from Sabha side entered the median hole and when i was caught unaware of this i bumped on one stuffy dog.  With no big injury it ran but i fell down on road. I could not get up for a minute and was afraid that some speeding vehicle may ram me. A Good samaritan and another gentleman came and lifted me to the kerb end and got me some water. I was in Terrible shock and pain and i had bruises on my right hand and right leg but nothing on left side. In a minute they left understanding i was normal. I asked one of them to check whether the vehicle was in working condition.

    He said yes and i slowly drove back and reached Mandaveli where my home is. I went to bed since i thought i should not disturb anyone. But the pain grew around Eight am and was taken to Isabel’s.  After routine medicine and injections i was given trips. I was advised to take a CT scan after few days if the pain do not recede on the right side of the chest. It was a Hairline crack and i was advised to take rest.

    With this current situation i cannot go out on my own, drive a vehicle or even a pick a piece paper from the Ground. I am on my medications. What i do is to sleep, eat or do something light whenever i can.

    After the coffee was over a second thought came to me and it told me to go towards Vivekananda College. But i did not heed to that and disobeyed it. Since i wore a Helmet, my head was saved, i think so.

    My Friendly Advice –

    1 If you come across bunch of dogs or any stray cattle on the road, please stop the Vehicle and allow them to pass

    2 Please always use Helmet even if you go to a shorter distance

    3 if you come across intruders of any kind, please slow down the vehicle as much as you can

    I still feel that i could have handled yesterday’s Situation Better. But I did not. Life is there to teach always
