    ஒடுங்கிய பாம்பு ஒன்று புல்தரையில்
    ஊர்ந்து செல்லும் எப்போ தாவது
    எதிர்வரக் காண்பாய் நீ, இல்லையா ?
    நடுக்கம் தரும் ஓர் திடீர் காட்சி அது !

    A narrow fellow in the grass
    Occasionally rides;
    You may have met him—did you not
    His notice sudden is,

    புல்தரையைப் பிரிக்கும் சீப்புபோல்
    புள்ளித் தண்டு நெளிவது தெரியும்
    பிறகு காலைப் பின்னிக் கொண்டு
    உதறினால் அவிழ்ந்து முன் நழுவும்.

    The grass divides as with a comb,
    A spotted shaft is seen,
    And then it closes at your feet,
    And opens further on.

    ஈரமுள்ள தளம் அதற்குப் பிடிக்கும்
    பேரளவு குளிர்த் தரையும் பிடிக்கும்
    சிறுவன் என் வெறுங் காலைப் பன்முறை
    தொட்டுச் செல்லும்  பட்டப் பகலில்.

    He likes a boggy acre,
    A floor too cool for corn,
    But when a boy and barefoot,
    I more than once at noon

    விலகிப் போன தென நினைத்தேன்
    வெய்யிலில் அது மெதுவாக நகரும்.
    காத்திட அதைப் பிடிக்கக் குனிந்தேன்
    சுருண்டு கொண்டு பிறகு போனது.

    Have passed, I thought, a whip lash,
    Unbraiding in the sun,
    When stooping to secure it,
    It wrinkled and was gone.

    இயற்கை ஜீவன் பற்பல அறிவேன்
    என்னையும் நன்கு  அறியும் அவை.
    கவலை கொள்வேன் மெது நகர்ச்சிக்கு
    கனிவுடன் அவற்றை நான் விலக்குவேன்

    Several of nature’s people
    I know, and they know me;
    I feel for them a transport
    Of cordiality.

    அதன்பின் பார்க்க வில்லை அதனை
    சேர்ந்தோ அல்லது தனியா கவோ
    அச்ச மின்றி, பெருமூச் சின்றி,
    நச்சு ஜீவனை  உணர்வு எலும்பின்றி.

    But never met this fellow,
    Attended or alone,
    Without a tighter breathing,
    And zero at the bone.

    ஒரு நாளைக்கு  எவ்வளவு நேரம் வேலை பார்க்கிறேன்? எவ்வளவு மணி நேரம் ஓய்வில் இருக்கின்றேன்? கணக்கிட்டு தன்னை சரிப்படுத்தி கொள்ளும் பணியாளரின் செயல் என்னை வியப்பில் ஆழ்த்திய அனுபவம்.

    காரைக்குடி – ஒரு வேலைக்கும், அடுத்த வேலைக்கும் எவ்வளவு நேரம் எடுத்துக் கொள்கிறோம்? ஒரு நாளில் எவ்வளவு நேரம் ஓய்வாக இருக்கிறோம் என கணக்கிட்டு வேலைபார்க்கும் சலூன்காரர் சிதம்பரம் என்னை ஆச்சரியத்தில்அசத்தினார்.

    சிவகங்கை மாவட்டம் காரைக்குடி  அருகே உள்ள ஸ்ரீராம் நகரில் சலூன் கடையில் வேலை பார்ப்பவர் சிதம்பரம். சமீபகாலமாக அந்த கடைக்கு வாடிக்கையாளராக சென்று வருகின்றேன். இந்த முறை செல்லும் பொழுது வரும் வாடிக்கையாளர்கள் நோட்டில் எவ்வளவு பணம் கொடுத்துள்ளார்கள் என்பதை எழுதினார். பணம் தானே எழுதுகிறார் என்று நான் நினைத்தேன்.

    பிறகு கேட்டேன் நீங்கள் தானே கடை நடத்துகிறீர்கள்? பின்பு ஏன் பணத்தை நோட்டு போட்டு எழுதுகிறீர்கள் என்று கேட்டேன். அதற்கு சிதம்பரம் சொன்ன பதில்தான் என்னை ஆச்சரியத்தில் அசத்தியது:

    “நான் சம்பளத்திற்கு தான் இந்த கடையில் வேலை பார்க்கிறேன்.  எனது முதலாளி இரண்டு கடைகள் வைத்துள்ளார். ஆனால் என்னை இந்த கடையில் என்னை தொழிலாளி போல் நடத்தாமல், சக நண்பராக நடத்தும் அவருக்கு நேர்மையாக நடக்க வேண்டும் என்கிற நோக்கில் எத்தனை நபர்கள் வந்தாலும் அந்தக் கணக்கை நோட்டில் குறித்து விடுவேன். அது போக ஒரு வேலை முடிந்து அடுத்த வேலை ஆரம்பித்து அந்த வேலை முடிவதற்கு எவ்வளவு நேரம் ஆகிறது என்பதையும் நானே நோட்டில் குறித்து கொள்வேன். என்னுடைய கை சரியான வேகத்தில் செயல்படுகிறதா அல்லது ஒருவேலை பார்த்தவுடன் மெதுவாக ஆகிவிடுகிறது என்பது போன்று நானே அறிந்து கொள்வேன். சில நபர்கள் வரும் பொழுது மிக எளிதாக பாதி முடியை கட் செய்தால் போதும் என்று கூறிவிட்டு சென்று விடுவார்கள். அது போக ஒரு நாளைக்கு எவ்வளவு நேரம் நான் வாங்கும் சம்பளத்திற்கு ஓய்வாக இருக்கிறேன்?  எவ்வளவு நேரம் வேலை பார்க்கிறேன் என்கிற தகவலையும் நோட்டில் குறிப்பதன் மூலம் நான் அறிந்து கொள்வேன். எனது முதலாளியும் என்னை முழுவதுமாக நம்பி இந்த கடையை ஒப்படைத்திருக்கிறார். 14 வயது முதல் சவரத் தொழில் ஈடுபட்டு வருகின்றேன். இப்பொழுது எனக்கு வயது 34. எனது அனுபவத்தில் எனது பணியை நானே நேசிக்கின்றேன். என்று கூறி என்னை வியப்பில் ஆழ்த்தினார்.”

    நண்பர்களே எத்தனையோ இடங்களுக்கு நாம் செல்கின்றோம். நம்முடைய பணி எவ்வளவு நேரம் வேலை பார்த்தோம் என்பதை  சலூன் கடையில் பணியாற்றுபவர் குறித்தது எனக்கு மிகுந்த ஆச்சரியத்தையும், புதிய அனுபவத்தையும் ஏற்படுத்தியது. அதனை உங்களுடன் பகிர்ந்து கொள்வோம் என்கிற நோக்கில் தான் இந்த தகவலை இங்கே குறிப்பிடுகின்றேன். தனது முதலாளிக்கு நேர்மையானவராகவும், தனது மனசாட்சிக்கு நேர்மையானவராகவும் செயல்பட வேண்டும் என்கிற நோக்கில் செயல்படும் சிதம்பரத்தின் செயல்பாடு பாராட்டுக்குரியது.

    The Court had given time to Sastra college, Thanjavur till 24th March and on the last leg the institution had approached the High court asking the Govt to sell the land to them.

    State government had clearly told that the said Place is already earmarked for various projects and it cannot give it to the concerned institution.

    First of all it is daring that the said institution which had committed this fraud has the guts to ask the govt and court to give the land to them. Secondly there was no regret in any form by them for all the poaching all these years and in fact they have to pay the Govt for having enjoyed the benefits all these years. Instead now they are asking the stakeholders to give the land.

    How a educational institution can be behave like is a million dollar question and please be aware that they are running a Law College. I wish the court Pounce on this corrupt act of the college and admonish them for what they have done all these days as Highly Illegal. if the court still finds its own ways and plug the leak in favour of the college and against the Govt there is no point further in talking about the justice and the so called phrase ever winning truth etal .

    When Ayodhya Mandapam was inaugurated it was called initial as Ram samajam and many in west mambalam and T Nagar found the place as more convenient to commute as a place of worship and it had many big signatories on the board. In the beginning only Iyers were permitted inside the same and later some objections were raised that facilitated all were permitted inside years later.

    It was only registered as a trust. The face of the mandapam changed as many new comers who became the office bearers had interesting ideas to develop the institution and they also wanted to make the samajam commercially viable.

    In the course of the time a kalyana mandapam was raised and a school had started functioning on the lines of a perfect social service link to a specific community. In fact even a Gnanavaapi was raised by them amid some objections those days.

    It was once considered to be the best religious hall cum Kalyana Mandapam in chennai at an affordable rate since it also had the facility of a sath Sangh team with more members getting added every year.

    The society had some issues with the state Government and after jaya Govt sworn in in 2011, many thought the snow balling issue would come to an end but it went other wise Yes. HRCE Made its first attempt and wanted to bring the samajam into the fold of HRCE and after a legal battle for few years the samaj and the society got a stay order from the court. But it was a short lived one since the court had given the judgement in favour of the HRCE and now the whole of the samajam is in the control of HRCE. Exactly on its golden Jubilee year the society lost its clout and Hold on this Religious centre.

    Corporation school students benefit from Every Child a Scientist program at MSSRF

    Today March 23, 2022, thirty school students completed the 15-day science course at M S Swaminathan Research Foundation, Taramani, Chennai. Each of them was awarded a certificate by the Executive Director – Dr G N Hariharan, and the other scientists from MSSRF. The children (both girls and boys) are from Class VIII, and study in the English and Tamil medium Corporation Higher Secondary school, Taramani.

    “Every Child A Scientist” (ECAS) program at the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) was initiated in the year 2002 with an aim to kindle scientific curiosity among students in the age group of 12- 15 years. These students lack access to recent developments in science and to use modern scientific and learning tools, but are eager and have a tremendous capacity to learn. The ECAS programme focuses on triggering the ability to question, in the students of classes VI to VIII studying in Corporation schools, that are overseen by the Education Department, Corporation of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Every year about 300 students from Government schools from specific zones of Chennai Corporation utilize the facility.

    “Children’s scientific temperament directly contributes to a country’s progress,” says Prof. M.S. Swaminathan, who donated an initial endowment grant of Rs. 25.00 Lakhs associated with the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Development, and Disarmament. Prof. Swaminathan was the recipient of the prize in 1999.

    Learning materials and Facilities at the Centre
    • The centre is equipped with modern learning tools specifically to bridge the digital divide. Individual desktop systems will provide for personalised educational platform, sharpen their computer skills to make them “Future Ready” in the era of digitization.
    • About fifty specially tailored multimedia learning modules have been prepared, and the 15-day course will be flexibly tailored using these modules.
    • The developed course content is based on topics prescribed in their school curriculum with additional relevant information to make learning easier and interesting.
    • Conducting basic laboratory experiments to promote “learning by doing” in physics, chemistry and biology
    • Field activities to nurture a connect with nature in all its diversity, specifically soil, water, flora and fauna and their inter- connectedness of all life forms

    This program continues with generous CSR funding by the Larsen and Toubro group as well as administrative support by the Education Department, Corporation of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

    இந்தப் பறவையின் பெயர், செந்தலைப் பூங்குருவி (Orange-headed thrush). பாசெரின் (Passerine) என்ற குடும்பத்தைச் சார்ந்தது. இப்பறவையின் இறகு ஈப்பிடிப்பான் பறவையைப்போல் குட்டையாகக் காணப்படுகிறது. ஈரோடு மாவட்டத்தில் இந்தப் பறவை காணப்படும் என விக்கிப்பீடியாவில் சொல்லியிருக்கிறார்கள். ஆனால், நான் இதைத் தாம்பரத்தில் படம் பிடித்தேன்.
