    Some inputs I wish to share on the vaccination issue. Originally I registered through a contact in Trinity hospital based on the portal info and when we went and asked for the same the attendant was not even aware of such a portal had been made on them and said there is no such facility.

    We moved on Kaveri Hospital and there was a serpentine queue of oldies and we were told that it will take one full hour to get the Jab Done. It has a fee of Rupees two hundred and fifty per shot. The programme was cancelled and it was booked next day in Kalyani Hospital well in the morning and as per the allotment we were eligible to get the jab done before five pm.

    But when we went there around 2.30 this noon we were told that the allotted hundred numbers of Jab was over and we will be eligible to get vaccination only tomorrow.

    We drove to PHC. My Jab is over. I had a pleasant experience today at the PHC and the process was over in just ten minutes. I showed the necessary documents and explained my current health issues and after a pressure checkup (it was quite normal) I was vaccinated and after taking ten minutes rest I moved on to my scheduled works.

    The PHC staffs were so cordial and handled the complete exercise very neatly. Total number of people who had undergone vaccination in this unit is around one hundred so far. I could also meet my few old contacts who were served tea and biscuits months ago during the peak of Covid times over there and exchanged pleasantries. Next shot is due by this month end. Thanks GCC for making the exercise easy and simple.

    The location I had chosen is Dvn 125 San Thome UPHC, 14A, Appu 2nd Lane, Mylapore, Chennai-4. This is Near Indian Overseas Bank on Santhome High Road and MSV’s House.

    Please carry two proofs with you and admit honestly your health issues if any. This is a good initiative by the central and state government and we should thank them for this as an apolitical person.

    We may be aware of Many institutes offering English speaking courses today and many of them are expensive too. There are few corporate companies which do the teaching like the One Veta which is now gone. And those days it was only Rapidex English book the only source to learn the spoken English.

    The main issue in the learning is the shyness and hesitation which some institutes could attend well but what needed now is a private class with a comfortable environment and feel free mind. That is now being offered by Mr. Chandramouli of Mylapore. This gentleman an engineer is proficient in six languages which includes German and French too. He is such a soft spoken person and was too kind enough to spare a little time few days ago when i met him. He is residing in the traditional house in a street where a stalwart of Carnatic Music world lived a decade back. Yes, you guessed it right. He is the son in law of Sri S Rajam Iyer. With such a wide experience in business and having toured most of the countries he preferred to settle in the home town after eventful years. Now in his late sixties he had decided to devote his time to teach people of all age the Spoken English. Please feel free to share a word about this gentleman to your known circles and whoever is interested on this can reach Sri Chandra Mouli on Numbers

    ஒரு காதைக் கூர்ப்பாக்கி, தலை சாய்த்துக் கேட்கிறேன்
    இட்ட உணவை அவர் போல மிச்சமின்றி வைக்கிறேன்
    பலமிழிந்த கால்களுடன் அவர் போல நடக்கிறேன்
    வெற்றிலையும் பாக்கும் வாழ்க்கை என நினைக்கிறேன்
    சுவரோர மூலையைச் சொர்க்கமென நினைக்கிறேன்

    கமல் ஹாசனின் கட்சி வளர்ந்து வருகின்றது. அவர் பேச்சு, அரசியல் சூழல் புரிந்துள்ள நிலை மிக தெளிவாக இருக்கிறது. லஞ்ச லாவண்ய அரசியல் எதிர்ப்பாளர் என்ற ஒரு ஆயுதமே இன்று அவருக்குப் பெரும்பலம். அவருக்கு நல்ல உடல் நிலை உள்ளது. தமிழக அரசியலைத் தேசிய அரசியலை ஊன்றிப் பார்த்த அவர், நிச்சயம் மக்களுக்கு நல்லது செய்வார் என்று நம்பலாம்.

    பணத்துக்கு ஆசைப்படும் வயதெல்லாம் தாண்டிவிட்டார். புகழ் போதை தவிர்க்க முடியாது. அதுவும் கடந்து போகும். நல்ல இலக்கிய, கலை அறிவு அவருக்கு உண்டு. நல்ல மொழிப் பரிச்சயம் அவருக்கு. டில்லி சென்றால் இந்தியில் பேசலாம். அடுத்த மாநிலங்களுக்குச் சென்றால் அவர்கள் பாஷையில் உரையாடலாம் . முடிவுகளைச் சட்டென எடுக்கிறார்.

    இன்னும் கொஞ்சம் மக்களுடன் நெருங்கி அவர்கள் உயரத்தில் இருந்து பேசினால் நெருக்கம் அதிகமாகும். நடிப்பதில்லை என முடிவும் எடுத்துவிட்டார். அவரின் சில சாமர்த்திய முடிவுகள், ஒரு திட்டமிடலைச் சொல்கின்றன. வசீகரம் மாறவில்லை. அவர் நாத்திகர் எனச் சிலர் கிண்டல் செய்வதை ஒப்புக்கொள்ள முடியாது. நாத்திகன் நல்லது செய்யக் கூடாதா? அல்லது நாத்திகன் நல்லவனாக இருக்கக் கூடாதா என்ன?

    எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் ஒரு மாற்று சிந்தனை அவருக்கு உண்டு. விஞ்ஞானம் புரிந்து, தொழில்நுட்பம் தெரிந்த, தன்னை மாற்றிச் சம காலத்திற்கு உயர்த்திக்கொண்டு உள்ள அவரது புரிதல், நிச்சயம் தேசத்திற்கு நல்லது. அவர் மற்றவர்கள் போல இயல்புத் தமிழில் பேசி, மிகுந்து யோசித்துப் பதில் கொடுத்து, தன்னை மையப்படுத்திக் கொள்ளாமல் இயல்பாய் இருப்பின், மிகுந்து சாதிப்பார்.

    வாழ்க மக்கள் நீதி மையம். திராவிடக் கட்சிகளுக்கு மாற்று வேண்டும் என யோசிப்பவர்கள் நிச்சயம் அவருக்கு ஆதரவு அளிக்க வேண்டும். இன்று இல்லாவிட்டாலும் சில காலத்தில் அவர் கட்சி இங்கு நிச்சயம் வேரூன்றும்.

    நிஜார் போட்டிருந்த நாட்களில் நான் குந்துமணி பங்களாவில் மாடிப்படி மாது. கடைக்கு ஏதேனும் வாங்கவேண்டும் என்றால் எல்லோரும் என்னைத் தான் அழைப்பார்கள். மங்களம் மாமி பில்லை காபிபொடி கேட்பாள். ஆராவமுது அய்யங்கார் கேட்பது மைதீன் புகையிலை. அதுவும் மாமிக்கு தெரியாமல் கொடுக்க வேண்டும். பார்த்துவிட்டால் மாமி எனக்கு புரியாதபடி மாமாவை வைவாள். புகையிலை மயக்கத்தில் வாயை குதப்பிக் கொண்டு மாமா இன்றெல்லாம் உட்கார்ந்திருப்பார். வாயைத் திறக்க மாட்டார். திறந்துவிட்டு பேசினால் அந்த குதப்பலை முழுங்க வேண்டி வரும். வாந்தியும் எடுத்து பார்த்து இருக்கிறேன். மாமி பயந்து கொண்டு எண்ணண்ணா என்பாள். பித்தம்டி என்பார். எனக்கு தான் தெரியும். மாமாவை உற்றுப் பார்த்தால் படவா என்பார்.

    இதில் விஷேசம் இந்திரா அக்காதான். அக்காவுக்கு வேண்டியது புஸ்தகங்கள்தான். இந்த புஸ்தகங்கள் எனக்குப் புரியாது. ஆனாலும் ஒவ்வொரு புஸ்தகத்திலும் ஒரு வாசனை உண்டு. அதனைப் பிரித்து முகர்ந்து கொண்டு நடந்து வருவது ஒரு பெரிய சந்தோஷம். எல்லோரும் வேலை முடிந்ததும் இரண்டு பைசா கொடுப்பார்கள். என்ன ஒற்றுமை? அலுமினியக் காசு. தினம் கொஞ்சம் பைசா சேரும். சாயந்தரம் பொரிகடலை பபுல்கம்முக்கு உதவும். இந்த சந்தோஷம் எல்லாம் பூமா மாமி கூப்பிட்டால் போய்விடும். காரணம் என்னை மாமி அனுப்புமிடம் – மாவு மிஷின்.

    வழுமூன அரைச்சிண்டு வா என்பாள். இந்த வழுமூனன்னா என்ன என்று மிஷின் காரரைக் கேட்டேன். ஐயரம்மாவைக் கேள் என்றான். அவன் கோபக்காரன். அவனைப் பார்த்தால் மீசையைச் கண்டால் லேசாக கால்கள் நடுங்கும். இப்போது மீசை எல்லாம் ஒரே மாவு, பார்க்க இன்னும் பயங்கரமாக இருந்தான். அவன் பின்னால் உள்ள மிஷினை நோண்டிக் கொண்டிருக்க நான் முதலில் முடித்துவிட்டு ஓடி விடுவேன். அடுத்த முறை அங்கு சென்றபோது அந்த இரைச்சல் ஜிவ்வென்றிருந்தது. கால்கள் தடதடத்தன. பெரிய நடுக்கம். ஒரு அதிர்வு. எனக்கு சத்தம் என்றால் ஒத்துப் போவதில்லை. நிஜாரைக் கெட்டியாகப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு மாவு பாத்திரம் கொடுத்தேன். எல்லோரும் என்னைப் போல் அரை டிராயர். உடம்பெல்லாம் ஒரே கருப்பு கீல். மாவு படாத இடமில்லை. அவன் உடம்பில் எங்கு தட்டினாலும் வெண்புகை கிளம்பும். இதில் ஒரு பெரிய மகிழ்ச்சி உண்டு. இந்த இரைச்சலான ஓட்டத்தில் இடையே சில சமயம் எல்லா இயந்திரங்களும் பட்டென நிற்கும். அந்த பேரமைதி அடடா.. என்ன எழுச்சியான மனம் அப்போது.

    அவ்வயதில் பள்ளி விடுமுறை துவங்கி எல்லோரும் ஊருக்குப் போய்க் கொண்டிருப்பார்கள். எனக்கு அந்த வாய்ப்பு இல்லை. இந்த விடுமுறை நாட்களில் நிறைய பேர் என்னை கடைக்கு அனுப்பி பெரிய மாதுவாக்குவார்கள். ஆனால் மாறாத அதே இரண்டு பைசா. சில சமயம் பித்தளை கருப்பு மஞ்சளில் கிடைக்கும். பைசாவைக் கொடுக்கும்போதே வேர்க்கடலை உரிக்கும் ஞாபகம் வரும்.

    இந்தாடா கோதுமை டேய் பஞ்சாப் கோதுமை.. பாத்து அரை. தூக்கிக் கொண்டு போனேன். போகும் வழியில் கோதுமையை அளைந்துகொண்டு கொஞ்சம் வாயில் போட்டுக் கொண்டேன். பபுல்கம் மாதிரி முடியாமல் போக அதற்குள் மாவு மிஷினே வந்துவிட்டது. லுங்கிக் கட்டிக் கொண்டு ஒருவர் எவ்வளவு என்றார். என் கூலியா. அவர் கூலியா தெரியவில்லை. அப்படியே பீடியோடு அவர் போய்விட்டார். கோதுமை அரைத்து கையில் வைத்துக்கொண்டு இளம்சூட்டில் இருக்க முதுகில் தட்டி பத்து பைசா என்றார்.

    ஜோபியை துழவினேன். எங்கும் இல்லை. கொஞ்சம் அழுகை வந்தது.

    என்ன முட்டாய் வாங்கித் தின்னியா? இல்லை தலையாட்டினேன்.

    சரிசரி குந்துமணி பங்களா தானே எந்த ஐயர் வீடு எனக் கேட்டான். சொன்னேன்.

    மாமியிடம் மாவு கொடுத்தாகி விட்டது. தலையைக் கோதிவிட்டாள். மோர்குடிடா கொஞ்சம்.. இந்தா அய்யா..

    இந்த பேப்பரை பெரிசா விரித்து மாவெல்லாம் கொட்டு என்றாள். செய்தேன். நல்லா கையால அளைந்துவிடு என்றாள். சூடு தாங்கவில்லை. செய்தேன். வலப்பக்கத்தில் இருந்து இடப்பக்கம் அளைக்கையில் ஒரு பொருள் தட்டுப்பட எடுத்துப் பார்த்தால் பித்தளை பத்து பைசா. நாலாபக்கமும் நசுங்கி உருத் தெரியாமல் எல்லாப் புறமும் கீரலாக இருந்தது.

    கோதுமையுடன் கலந்து காசும் அரைபட்டு சிதிலம். அப்போது கூட அந்த காசு நசுங்கின விதம் பற்றி தான் யோசித்து கொண்டிருந்தேனே தவிர பணம் போன கவலை இல்லை .

    எப்படி வருகிறது அழுகை , உடலை பார்த்தவுடன்
    எல்லோரும் நல்லவர்கள் இங்கே .
    செத்த பின் இங்கு எல்லாம் பரஸ்பரம் .
    ஒருவர் மாலையை சரி செய்தார் , பள்ளியில் படித்தவராம்
    ஒருவர் அந்த சிரிப்பே வாடவில்லை என்றார் , என்ன பாக்கியோ?
    யாரோ நின்று ஈக்களை விரட்டிக்கொண்டிருந்தார் .
    யாருமே இங்கே சிரிக்கக்கூடாது .
    பிற எதை செய்தாலும் கேள்வியில்லை .
    எனக்கு பீரிட்டெழவில்லை சோகம் .
    நான் இறந்து இருப்பின் அவனுக்கும் இருக்காது .
    இப்போது மரணங்கள் துக்கத்தை விட கேள்வியை தான் கொடுக்கின்றன

    We all must be aware the problem the Policemen face when they are posted on Bandobust Duty. Most particularly the women Police. Normally the bandobast duty is handled by the police force when large meetings are held by political meetings and agitations are held or when National leaders land in Chennai. In such a case many police forces used to be deployed are drawn from suburbs and even from outstations. They can manage to eat elsewhere after the duty is over or can take a break and go for a quick bite.

    But the main problem is they may not find a toilet or any small restroom in the vicinity. They have to depend upon a hotel or a shop which is an issue of embarrassment since their obligation may draw ire sometimes. But not anymore.

    The state police had made arrangements to procure restroom vehicles for these police force which are taken to the sites where the meeting or agitation is being held in Chennai . These vehicles do have the facility to use a toilet both western and Indian with a wash area and change room. This is a boon to those who are drawn to the sites and there are six vehicles as of now, one exclusive for women.

    There are official drivers for all the vehicles and the one which was parked few days back is shown in the picture. A Good initiative indeed. The vehicle is taken to the filling point like MRC Nagar or any other point in Nungambakkam for regular top up depending upon the location where vehicle is to be taken. The very idea though a long pending one had been implemented at a right time and kudos to the state Police in doing it so. Hats Off.

    And there is a background news to this .An year ago a person an active man of Facebook had a chat with a sub inspector when he was on a Bandobust duty .He raised this point about the toilet facility with him and he expressed in negative and said it could not happen overnight as all those are to be done in a process which might take time.

    Too disturbed at this Mr Chandramouleeswaran visvanathan took the matter with a serious intention to do something and posted first this on his facebook wall with a copy to the CM Cell.

    Based on his petition and grievance the cell took the action and informed him back that they are in the process of finding a solution and arranging mobile toilets, zone wise soon.

    Not this alone. Joint secretary of TN Government called him and apprised about the action that has been done based on his request.

    All these had happened based on his petition and the system is now in place. Besides he received two calls from DIG of two different zones and expressed the happiness on the action taken by the state.

    First the appreciation should go Mr Chandramouleeswaran Visvanathan on this for having taken up this issue and next to the state government for the swift action.

    It was an ordinary Sunday morning and people were busy in shopping, prayers, and vending on South Mada Street Mylapore.

    But this girl with her parents was there to perform a rope walk for their survival. Almost similar to what we see in a Circus. She must be around twelve years and am sure she may not be schooling like other children.

    Her day starts with a rope walk somewhere on the streets of Chennai to the beating of small handy banjos by their parents. She walks on and on back to back changing the direction.

    Her father places a plate under her foot and she manages to walk on that at a height of around ten feet above. Highest level of Focus and concentration and a determined walk it was .There was not a slip anywhere or any sight of wrong footing. Everything was perfect to the core. If only she could be hired for her excellent skills by an event manager in some programmes, she can survive better and keep her family happy afloat to fill the belly.

    My heart goes to them. I offered them Chai and little money, the best I could do.

    It was an ordinary day for Mohandas. It was Friday and the life was usual for everyone. Mohandas got up at sharp 3.30am in Birla house and he has been staying there since september of 1947. The peacemaking ceremony had happened in this place among many persons. Attendant Brij Krishna was ready as usual with his nieces Manu and Abha. The prayer started at sharp 3.45 am on the dot. He had a simple massage and corrected the draft proposal he already made. He had his lemon juice. Later little honey and orange juice since he underwent a long fast only a month ago which had deteriorated his health. The completed document was almost his last will and testament in a way. He recollected about the Noakhali issue and the crisis of Rice in Madras to his secretary Pyarelal and then went to take a short nap. There were some heated speech by shyam prasad Mukherjee only few days ago and he had threatened to kill congress men on this. Mohandas was upset at this hate speech. He met as a normal practice his visitors which included blind refugees. A delegation from Punjab and Sikh came to invite and he suggested Babu Rajendra Prasad to be the President. He also had a meeting with Nehru and Patel since he did his peace making process between them.

    On the other hand it was Nathuram Godse who was staying in the retiring room Number six decided that he had a mission on his hand and he was among a big team who were in various points to execute in case of any failure from his end. Many may not be aware that there was an attempt on Jan 10 was later treated as a dry Run Mohandas love to be punctual and sadly on this day he was late by ten minutes since his secretaries decided not to intervene a discussion which was going on already .His famous Ingersoll was not worn by him and that could be another reason for his being late that day.

    To make it quick he chose a short cut and was moving to the prayer hall in the first floor There were normally twenty policemen to protect him which was arranged only few months ago after an attempt was made months ago Well before five Pm Godse reached Birla Temple and Apte and Karkare was there following him. He was in Khaki and engaged a tonga .The mission was on and they were all travelling towards the Birla House. Normally people used to form a passage track and on that fateful day it was not to be. Godse was getting ready with his Italian made Beretta pistol. Godse Pushed Manu aside and moved his way towards Mohandas. In the melee when the flower plates fell down she bent down to pick it. It was at this moment Godse picked his gun and shot Mohandas thrice one at the chest and two on the abdomen. It was a point blank range .Mohandas stood till third bullet was pumped on him and fell on the ground.

    The man who fought against the violence fell prey to his teaching and the prime age of close to eighty. All were over at 5.17 Sharp on the evening of January 30, 1948. The fragrance of flowers vanished and it became a smokey Gun Powder smell that filled the air.

    When Mohandas fell to the bullets he chanted just two times He Ram He ram and had his last breathe. That was his last prayer.

    There are versions to say that he did not say He Ram at all. His personal assistant Sri Kalyanam (still alive and resides in teynampet) says he fell and died and it was Manu and Abha who lifted him and kept his head on their laps.

    The whole world grieved. It was this man who preached nonviolence and it was the same who fell to the Beretta Bullets. Its shame on us that we killed him. Who also can be fondly called Bapu and its our own Mahatma.

    Our salutes forever to this Messiah.

    I saw the man who had served Mahatma Gandhi – Precious Moments in my Life

    Many of us may know Venkita Kalyanam the man who served Mahatma as his assistant for around five years and it was this man who was around Mahatma when Godse pumped bullets on that 30th January (Friday) of 1948.

    It was at this time Kalyanam who was just twenty years old rushed to break the news and went on to call the office of Vallabhai Patel and later to Jawaharlal Nehru.

    It was a small job which Kalyanam got for Rs sixty per month and he took that position after Mahadev Desai passed away. On that fateful day it was Kalyanam who served Gandhi his little food in the noon before he proceeded to Birla House.

    Kalyanam was a small time freedom fighter and did something against Britishers and was arrested for a while. He worked for an insurance company and then through a contact known to Devdas Joined the ashram.

    After the demise of Mahatma he also worked for few personalities like Nehru, Edwina and Red Cross.

    Incidentally Kalyanam was born on August 15 of 1920. Kalyanam would spend his time tending the plants and he has a big garden in Teynampet where he would love to spend time with plants. He was active enough to do the same till late 2010 then due to age factor he dropped the work and it was his assistant who is now doing there. Now he lives with his daughter and bedridden with a catheter support.

    I had the opportunity to see him last week in his place. I was already told that I cannot take long time with him since he is not too well. I went to him and said Namaskaram. He could not recognise any one since he has a vision problem to the acute stage but could see as an Image.

    He told me to sit and I hesitated but he ordered to sit and I was on the edge. I did not speak to him but was awestruck.

    This was the man who had seen Gandhi and other freedom fighters. What a moment in life to me? After few minutes I left the place and had a small chat with his family members. I am too happy that I have seen this man and was with him for a while.

    He will be celebrating centenary celebration next year. I feel the long mission in my life is complete. Heart filling memories with Kalyanam Sir. My Pranams.

    At last the biggest park was opened ten days ago by the TN Government which was caught up in some issues for several long years.

    It was a project started during the previous government and the property owned by the Tamilnadu Horticultural department started the project after all the bottlenecks (some legal issues) were cleared. With such a large greenery this is going to be a big big hit and this park is on the edge of the anna salai opposite to the old safire theatre and close to the old Oxford University Press and USIS.

    Geographically its on Avvai shanmugam salai (Formerly Lloyds Road) and there will be thousands of trees and a big path way with all kinds of facilities like, seating in shade, water and rest rooms too.

    This six acres plus park is also to be solar powered soon. People who reside in nearby areas like Thousand lights, Nungambakkam and Gopalapuram will find this as a boon. This is also to be allowed for film shoots and there are nearly hundred and eighty variety of trees which is not normally available grown and seen in Metropolitan areas like chennai.

    Separate gyms and children park area is also part of this park and presently it is open for four hours in the morning and four hours in the evening since many works are not fully completed. This will also amphi theater in the days to come with two ponds bit larger ones.

    All these comes to us on a fee of Rs Twenty per head and Rs one Hundred and fifty per month like a monthly season.

    Probably Post Covid and during the on coming summer this will turn to be a major attraction.This is just a walking distance from the DAV School in Gopalapuram.

    மந்தவெளி தெரு தாண்டி மரங்கள் அடர்ந்த தியான ஆச்ரமம் பக்கத்தில் உள்ள தெருவில் அவர் வீடு. பெயர் இசைமணி இல்லம்.

    இரைச்சல் இல்லாத எழுபதுகளில் அந்த பக்கம் போனால் சங்கீதத்தின் சாயல் தெரியும். மரங்களின் குளிர் தென்றல், பக்கத்தில் உள்ள கடற்கரையின் அற்புத காற்று, நிசப்தம் பயமுறுத்தாத இருட்டு. இவர் சாதகம் செய்யும் குரல்….என்ன பெரிய மரியாதையான மனிதர் அவர் –.சீர்காழி என்றாலே அது கோவிந்தராஜன் தான்.

    வெண்கல குரல். இவரை போல நாபியில் இருந்து பாட யாரும் இல்லை. ஒரு பாடல் என்றால் அதில் தனது ஆன்மாவை வைத்து அவர் செய்த நெசவு யாரும் தொட முடியாத ஒரு உசரம்.

    கலாட்டா பாடலா பூவா தலையா போட்டால் தெரியும் நினவு வரும். எழுச்சி பாடலா வெற்றி வேண்டுமா போட்டு பாரடா நின்று பேசும் .தேச பக்தி பாடலா வெள்ளி பனிமலை நம்மை உருக்கும் .சோகமா தேவன் கோயில் மணியோசை நம்மை தாலாட்டும். அவரின் மேகங்கள் இருண்டு வந்தால் பாடலை கேட்டு பாருங்கள்.. என்ன உச்சஸ்தாயி. என்ன கம்பீரம். என்ன பாவம்…. அது தவிர அவர் நிறைய தமிழ் இசை கச்சேரிகள் செய்து இருக்கிறார். சமரசம் செய்து கொள்ளாத மனிதர்.

    காத்திருந்த கண்கள் படத்தில் ஒரு பாடல். மெல்லிசை மன்னர்கள் இசை. பாடல் பதிவுக்கு வந்த சீர்காழிக்கு கொஞ்சம் அதிர்ச்சி. ஏனெனில் அங்கு வாத்ய குழு ஏதும் இல்லை. எல்லோரும் புறப்பட்டு போய் விட்டர்கள். தான் தான் தாமதமாக வந்து விட்டோமோ என்றெண்ணி விஸ்வநாதனிடம் என்ன அண்ணே ஆச்சு என் வினவினார்.

    வாத்ய கோஷ்டி ஏன் போய் விட்டார்கள் என கேட்க அவர் இந்த பாடலுக்கு மூன்று வாத்யம் போதும். இரண்டு கீழே இருக்கிறது. அப்ப மூணாவது என கேட்க சீர்காழியின் தொண்டையை தொட்டு இதை விட பெரிய வாத்தியம் வேறுண்டா என பதில் சொன்னார்.

    அந்த பாடல் — ஓடம் நதியினிலே — கேட்டு பாருங்கள். சிம்ப்லி அவுட் ஆப் தி வேர்ல்ட்.

    We all could have felt bit disappointed that we missed a grand music season this 2021 due to Covid 19 but please kindly note how grandly it was celebrated almost fifty years ago in Krishna gana sabha.

    The image here refers to an advertisement in Kalki (Now only on online). There were good number of programmes throughout the period including good dramas of popular stage artistes of those days on this season and almost all the great popular celebrities had been chosen by the sabha and strangely and rightly to say that none of the names of the office bearers names had not been mentioned at all.

    I request friends to enlarge the image to see the names of the stalwarts to wonder how great geniuses this soil had produced. This griffith road where the sabha is still there later became Muppathamman koil street fondly being called by locals and later the Tamilnadu Government had renamed this street as Maharajapuram Santhanam salai.

    Sevalaya is now a household name which has been functioning for almost three decades extending the best of their social services with the best support that pours from various sources like individuals and corporate companies. It was started with just five kids in a rented home in chennai and now it has service facility that is being extended in other parts of Tamilnadu like Trichy, Thiruvallur and Kancheepuram. It is headed by Sri V Muralidaran with the able support from other office bearers/trustees and all these years they have been functioning on PS Sivaswamy Salai near Vivekananda college.

    Now the news is more Big. Mrs. Lakshmi Venkatraman a old resident of Mylapore who was so impressed with the service of Sevalaya had come forward to donate a flat belonging to her on Ananda Road near Abiramapuram. Its not just a donation but it was a real transfer of the deed of the property on the name of Sevalaya.

    A 1250 Square feet residential home is now being converted as an office and the service organization is to move there soon. The estimated value of the property in today’s realty market value is close to 1.75 Crores. What a big heart Mam to donate for such a lovely cause?

    Mrs. Lakshmi is quiet about all these media reports and she want to stay away from all the lauding reports. She is a writer who has been contributing since late eighties in Arts and Culture section of The Hindu and a critic too. When I approached her over phone for a small appointment she was too hesitant to speak on the said subject but I insisted her that she speak to me for a minute on the said cause. I literally fell at her feet and said it was greatest Generosity I had come across in the recent times. My Pranams Madam.

    She is the granddaughter of Late Justice Sundaram on whose name there is a road now near Nageswara rao park and Rama Rao road. One of the Greatest Moments in my life which had melted me on a public cause recently.

    அது 1958 ஆம் வருடம். மருதூர் கோபாலக்ருஷ்ண மேனன் ராமசந்திரன் அந்த திரைப்படத்தில் ஒரு வசனம் பேசுவார். பட்டேனே பல துயரம், கெட்டேனா… இதை எண்ணி தான் புரட்சி கூட்டத்தில் சேர்ந்தேன்.

    அண்ணா என எம் என் ராஜம் அலறுவார்.

    கவலைப்படாதே மனோஹரி… அது ஆளை கொல்லும் ஆயுத புரட்சி அல்ல. அதில் எனக்கு நம்பிக்கையும் இல்லை என்பார்.

    என்னை நம்புகிறாயா சகோதரி?

    நான் மட்டும் இல்லை அண்ணா.. இந்த நாடே உங்களை தான் நம்பியிருக்கிறது. மக்கள் திலகம் பேசி முடிப்பார்.

    கொட்டகையில் சீழ்க்கை ஒலி பறக்கும். அவர்கள் பாஷையில் பிகில் — கொண்டு வந்த சில்லறையை இறைப்பார்கள். பூக்களை தூவுவார்கள். அவர்கள் வணங்கும் தெய்வம் அவர்.. வசனம் கண்ணதாசன் . உதவி செய்தவர் ரவீந்தர். சுமார் அஞ்சு மணி நேர படம் அது .அதனை சீவி மூன்று மணியாக்கினர். படம் மாபெரும் வெற்றி — வெற்றி பெற்றால் மன்னன், தோல்வி அடைந்தால் நாடோடி என முன்னர் சொன்னார். அன்று முதல் அவர் மன்னன். தனது பிம்பம் பற்றிய திட்டத்தை அங்குலம் அங்குலமாக செதுக்கி அவர் அடைந்த பெரிய உயரம் யாரும் அடையாதது .அவரை மலையாளி என்றார்கள், அவர் ஊர் கண்டி என கிண்டல் செய்தார்கள் ஆனால் அவர் பேசிய தமிழ் வசனம் மிக அற்புதம் . அதற்கு முன்னர் அவர் அடைந்த வெற்றி பல படங்களில் இருந்தாலும் நாடோடி மன்னன் அவரை பெரிய உச்சத்திற்கு கொண்டு சென்றது .கட்டுடல், அழகான சிரிப்பு, வசீகர முகம் – தமிழ் திரை உலகம் ஒரு மயக்கத்திற்கு தயாராகி கொண்டு இருந்தது. மன்றங்கள் முளைத்தன. பட்டுகோட்டையும், மருதகாசியும் திறந்த பேனாவை மூடவில்லை. செங்கொடி பாட்டில் தெறித்தது.

    அண்ணாதுரை அணைத்து அவரை கூட்டத்தில் காட்ட தி மு க விஸ்வரூபம். மக்கள் திலகத்திற்கு இப்பொது தான் தன் பலம் என்ன என்பது தெரிந்தது. 1972 ஆம் ஆண்டில் அதை நிரூபித்தார் தன் கட்சியை கொண்டு வருவதின் திட்டம் எப்போதோ போட்ட விதை. கருணாநிதியிடம் கணக்கு என்பது ஒரு சம்ப்ரதாய காரணம். மக்கள் திலகம் இருக்கும் வரை தி மு க எழவில்லை. காரணம் கலைஞரை காட்டிலும் அவருக்கு இருந்த பெயர். அரியணை கட்டில் ஏறிய பின்னர் அவரும் பால்டிகா பல்கேரியா என்ற ஊழல் பிரச்சனையில் மாட்டி நின்றார். ஒரு தேர்தலில் தோல்வி கண்டு பிறகு வலி உணர்ந்தார். அதற்கு பிறகு அவர் தோல்வியடையவில்லை பெற்ற வெற்றியில் செய்த பெரிய தவறு விடுதலை புலிகளுக்கு ஆதரவு கொடுத்தது. அதன் வீர்யம் மற்றும் வீச்சும் ராஜீவ் மரணம் வர தொடர்ந்து வந்தது. அன்று பிரபாகரனிடம் கோட்டையில் வைத்து கோடிக்கணக்கில் கொடுக்காமல் இருந்திருந்தால் பிரபாகரன் தன்னை பொருளாதார ரீதியாக தயார் செய்து கொண்டிருக்க மாட்டார். நாமும் ராஜீவ் காந்தியை இழந்து இருக்க மாட்டோம். தான தர்மங்களில் அவர் காட்டிய முனைப்பு, எல்லோரையும் அணைத்து செல்லும் பாங்கு, ஏழை மக்களின் அன்பு அவரை ஒரு தேசத்து ராஜாவாக்கியது. நல்ல நினைவாற்றல், கொடுத்த வார்த்தையை காக்கும் புத்தி.

    ஒரு கல்யாண பத்திரிகை கொடுக்க போனவரிடம் ஏன் விருந்துக்கு மட்டும் என்னை அழைக்கிறீர்.. கல்யாணம் எங்கே என வினவ அது ஒரு ஊரில் என்றார். ஆனால் அது உறவுகள் ஏற்பாடு என்றார். நான் உனக்கு உறவு இல்லையா என கேட்டு சொல்லி வைத்தார் போல அடுத்த மாதம் அவர் ஊருக்கு சென்று கல்யாணம் முன்னின்று நடத்தினார்.

    உடல் நலம் குன்றி இருந்த போது இந்திரா காந்தி 1984ஆம் சென்னை வந்து அவரை சந்தித்து வெளிநாடு சிகிச்சைக்கு ஏற்பாடு செய்தார்.. கொஞ்சம் குணமாகி நன்றி சொல்வதற்கு முன்னால் இந்திரா கொல்லப்பட்டார். மக்கள் திலகம் அடைந்த பெரிய கலக்கம் அது, மூன்று வருடங்களில் அவரும் இயற்கை எய்தினார். ஊரே புலம்பியது, தொலைகாட்சி காமிராக்கள் ஏதும் இல்லை தொண்டர்கள் சுருண்டு கலங்கினார்கள் – எல்லாம் உணர்ச்சிபூர்வமான நடத்தை எதிர்பார்ப்பற்ற செயல்கள். இவர்கள் யாரும் நடிக்கவில்லை.. பொன்னை மண் மூடியது, அவருக்கு வயது அப்போது 71.

    அன்று மாலை நான் நண்பர்களுடன் கடற்கரையில் இன்னொரு மூலையில் இருந்தேன். எல்லா துக்கமும் மனசுக்கு தான். காற்றும் அலைகளும், காகமும், மேகமும் வழக்கம் போல் தத்தமது வேலைகளை செய்ய நாங்கள் எல்லோரும் வீடு திரும்பினோம்.

    இருந்தாலும் மறைந்தாலும் பேர் சொல்ல வேண்டும்
    இவர் போல யார் என்று ஊர் சொல்ல வேண்டும் – வாலி
