கழிவுகளுக் கிடையே ஊருணி உள்ளது,

மெதுவாய்ச் செல்லும் குறியிலாப் பயணம்

எதையும் அடையாது, விரைவாய்ச் செல் !

Of Being from the Well amid the Waste –
And Lo! the phantom Caravan has reach’d
The Nothing it set out from – Oh, make haste!

[41] மனிதமா, தெய்வமா தர்க்கம் வேண்டாம்

நாளைய பிரச்சனை தனக்குள்ளே முடங்கும்

சைப்பிரஸ் அழுத்தத்தில் கைவிரல் இழக்கும்;

ஒயின் மது விற்பார் கனிவுடை அமைச்சர்.

The Cypress-slender Minister of Wine.

இதையோ, அதையோ முயல்வதில் பிணக்கம்.

திராட்சை ரசம் குடித்தின் புறுதல் மேலாம்;

கவலை வேண்டாம் கசப்போ, இனிப்போ.
