Famed Dialogue Writer and Story Man Aroor Das Passed away this evening (20th Nov) at T Nagar.

He was ailing for some time and the end came this evening at 6. 40 pm Hailing from Thiruvarur he settled in Chennai and became friend with Gemini Ganesan who Referred him to SivajI Ganesan who introduced him in Pasamalar in 1961.

And from there on there was no Turn back. Such is the Power of His Pen and many heroes approached him to pen dialogues for their Project and Dass was glad to accept the challenge and did his best.

Later when Tamil cinema changed hands to many newcomers,

Aroor was still able to match his standard. One such Film was Vidhi. A sujatha starrer film Produced by Sujatha’s Balaji casting Mohan and Poornima Jayaram in 1981 proved this.

Dass took the challenge and penned dialogue after a break in 1967 when he Wrote for Thangai. The film was a super duper success.

Aroor Das was 91 and Lives in Nathamuni Street, T Nagar Near Murugan Idli. Who can forget the sharp, Punch, emotional and lovable dialogue of Paasa Malar?
